Return and Exchange Policy

Effective Date: 7/10/2026

At Remnant & Crown, each item is prepared and inspected with care. To keep our return process manageable, we offer limited returns for store credit or size exchange only. We do not offer cash refunds for change-of-mind purchases, incorrect sizing, color preference, or buyer’s remorse.

Return Eligibility

A return request must be submitted within 30 calendar days of the original purchase date.

To qualify, the item must be:

  • Unworn, unwashed, unused, and unaltered

  • Free from odors, stains, deodorant, makeup, pet hair, lint, smoke, or other signs of wear

  • Returned with all original tags, packaging, and accessories

  • Accompanied by valid proof of purchase

  • Approved in advance and assigned a valid Return Merchandise Authorization number

Items that do not meet all eligibility requirements may be refused and returned to the customer at the customer’s expense.

Return Authorization Required

All returns require prior approval.

Before shipping an item back, submit a return request through 'theremnantclothingstore@gmail.com' and include:

  • Order number

  • Customer name

  • Item being returned

  • Reason for the return

  • Requested replacement size or store credit

  • Photographs of the item, tags, and packaging when requested

Approved returns will receive a Return Merchandise Authorization number and return instructions.

Returns sent without a valid RMA number, sent to the wrong address, or mailed after the authorization deadline may be refused, returned to sender, or assessed an administrative handling fee.

An RMA approval does not guarantee acceptance. All merchandise remains subject to inspection after delivery.

Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for all return-shipping costs.

Original shipping charges, expedited shipping charges, package-protection fees, and other delivery-related charges are nonrefundable.

We recommend using a trackable shipping service and retaining the shipping receipt. Remnant & Crown is not responsible for return packages that are lost, stolen, misdirected, delayed, damaged in transit, or delivered without verifiable tracking.

Do not send returns using cash on delivery. Such shipments will be refused.

Store Credit

Approved returns are issued as store credit only unless otherwise required by law.

Store credit:

  • Is issued after the returned item passes inspection

  • Applies only to eligible merchandise

  • Has no cash value

  • Cannot be redeemed for cash

  • Cannot be transferred or sold

  • Cannot be applied retroactively

  • May not be used to purchase gift cards

  • Does not include original or return shipping charges

Allow up to 10 business days after confirmed delivery for inspection and processing.

Exchanges

Eligible items may be exchanged for another available size of the same product.

Exchange inventory is not reserved while a return is in transit. If the requested size is unavailable when the return is processed, store credit will be issued instead.

Customers are responsible for return shipping and any shipping charge required to send the replacement item.

Price differences, taxes, and shipping charges may apply.

Final Sale Items

The following items are final sale and are not eligible for return, exchange, or store credit:

  • Clearance or final-sale merchandise

  • Customized, personalized, or made-to-order items

  • Gift cards

  • Items purchased using a final-sale promotion

  • Items marked nonreturnable on the product page

  • Worn, washed, altered, damaged, or incomplete merchandise

  • Items returned without original tags or packaging

  • Items received after the return period

  • Items returned without authorization

Promotional bundles must be returned in full. Partial returns from bundles may be refused or credited at the adjusted non-promotional value determined by Remnant & Crown.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

Inspect your order promptly after delivery.

Claims involving a damaged, defective, or incorrect item must be reported within 5 calendar days of confirmed delivery. Include the order number and clear photographs of:

  • The item

  • The defect or damage

  • The packaging

  • The shipping label

  • The packing slip, when applicable

Do not wear, wash, alter, repair, discard, or return the item before receiving instructions.

After review, Remnant & Crown may, at its discretion and as appropriate under applicable law:

  • Replace the item

  • Repair the item

  • Issue store credit

  • Provide another legally required remedy

Damage caused by misuse, improper care, normal wear, incorrect washing, accidents, alterations, or failure to follow care instructions is not considered a manufacturing defect.

This section does not limit remedies that cannot legally be excluded. Federal rules also address merchandise that arrives damaged, defective, or materially different from what was ordered. (Federal Trade Commission)

Order Cancellations and Address Changes

Orders begin processing quickly and cannot be guaranteed for cancellation or modification.

Once an order has entered production, fulfillment, or shipment preparation, it may not be canceled.

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address. Orders returned because of an incorrect, incomplete, refused, or undeliverable address may be subject to additional shipping charges before reshipment.

Refused and Unclaimed Packages

Refusing delivery does not constitute an approved return.

Refused, abandoned, unclaimed, or returned-to-sender packages may be subject to:

  • Original shipping charges

  • Return shipping charges

  • Carrier fees

  • Handling or restocking expenses reasonably incurred

Any remaining eligible amount will be issued as store credit after the package is received and inspected.

Return Abuse

Remnant & Crown reserves the right to limit or refuse returns, exchanges, or store credit where there is evidence of:

  • Excessive or repeated returns

  • Wardrobing

  • Fraud

  • Altered merchandise

  • False damage claims

  • Abuse of promotions

  • Multiple returns linked to the same customer, address, payment method, or account

  • Violation of this policy

Fraudulent return activity may be reported to payment processors, carriers, law-enforcement authorities, or other appropriate parties.

Inspection and Valuation

All return decisions are subject to inspection.

Remnant & Crown reserves the right to determine:

  • Whether an item is eligible

  • Whether it shows signs of wear or misuse

  • Whether packaging, tags, or accessories are missing

  • The amount of store credit due

  • Whether a deduction is appropriate for diminished value, missing components, or policy violations, where permitted by law

Chargebacks

Customers should contact Remnant & Crown and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve any issue before initiating a payment dispute.

Submitting a chargeback does not alter the terms of this policy. Remnant & Crown may provide the order record, tracking information, delivery confirmation, communications, photographs, and policy acceptance records to the payment processor.

Policy Changes

Remnant & Crown may revise this policy at any time.

The policy in effect on the purchase date will generally govern that order, except where a later change is required by law.
